Event Description

INIA worked with the Middle East Academy for Medicine of Ageing (MEAMA), in collaboration with the Middle-East & North Africa Association on Ageing & Alzheimer’s (MENAAA), and Dar Al Shifa Hospital, Kuwait in organising an in-situ training programme (Advanced Postgraduate Course VII.) in Dementia: Management, Palliative Care and Caregiving. 

This programme was held hybrid between the 11-12 of May in Kuwait.

A successful response was reached from most countries in the MENA region in addition to participants from countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. The in-person participants were mainly derived from Kuwait and Lebanon.

During this programme Rosette Farrugia-Bonello, INIA’s Deputy Director gave a lecture on the importance of  ‘Dementia friendly societies’, and Christian Vella, INIA’s Senior Research Officer lectured on ‘Social health as a driving force in dementia prevention and living well with dementia’.
