INIA Worked with Abyad Medical Center, The Middle East Academy for Medicine of Ageing, and The Middle East & North Africa Association on Ageing & Alzheimer’s in organsing a 2-day Diploma on Dementia Care. This Diploma was held virtually between the 26-27 August 2022 and was well attended by health and allied care practitioners, including but not limited to physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and health care officers. This session covered an overview of dementia as well as the epidemiology and demographic trends. This Diploma was composed of 10 speakers, two of which included Rosette Farrugia-Bonello, Deputy Director, INIA who delivered the session on ‘Dementia friendly societies’, and Christian Vella, Senior Research Officer, INIA, on ‘Early Stage Dementia’.
