An in-situ training programme in Dementia Care was held in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India between 10 – 14 August 2018. This programme was carried out in collaboration with Piramal Swasthya, Hyderabad India, and The International Institute on Ageing United Nations-Malta (INIA). Piramal Swasthya is a non-profit healthcare organisation that seeks to transform health ecosystems through high impact solutions, thought leadership and partnership, in order to make healthcare in India more accessible, affordable and available.This training programme was part of a pilot study on screening for dementia in the community for trained medical doctors working in mobile medical units. For the training programme, a single district was selected where all 20 practising medical doctors working in these mobile medical units received training.
