The International Institute on Ageing United Nations-Malta (INIA), organised an international school in Gerontology and Geriatrics in collaboration with Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Batumi, Georgia. The programme was held from 22 – 25 October 2018 and it was attended by 55 participants, mostly medical doctors working in the field of ageing in the Ajara region, and by professional staff and students of biology, medicine, social sciences, from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care. The participants visited St. Ekaterine Nursing Home and older persons at Khulo hospital in the high-mountainous region of Ajara.
