INIA collaborated with Abyad Medical Center, The Middle East Academy for Medicine of Ageing, and The Middle East & North Africa Association on Ageing & Alzheimer’s to organize a 2-day Diploma in Dementia Care.

This diploma was conducted virtually from September 26th to 27th, 2023, and received significant participation from physicians across different specialties including general practitioners, family physicians, consultants, psychiatrists, neurologists in addition to nurses, pharmacist, occupational therapists, and healthcare officers. The sessions covered an overview of dementia, epidemiology, and demographic trends.

The programme featured a total of 10 speakers, two of whom were Rosette Farrugia-Bonello, Deputy Director, INIA, who presented on ‘Dementia-Friendly Societies,’ and Christian Vella, Senior Research Officer, INIA, who discussed ‘Early-Stage Dementia.’
