Event Description
Professor Marvin Formosa, Director INIA, Rosette Farrugia-Bonello, Deputy Director INIA and Christian Vella, Senior Research Officer, INIA attended a seminar on “Ethical Challenges in Ageing and Dementia”. This seminar was held between the 26-27 October 2023 and was organized by the Department of Gerontology & Dementia Studies, Faculty for Social Wellbeing, University of Malta, in collaboration with CareMalta Group.
Keynote speaker Prof. Chris Gastmans from KU Leuven delved into topics of Dignity in Care, Ethics in the End of Life, Advanced Directives, and Euthanasia and Dementia. Professionals and stakeholders working in the field of ageing attended this seminar, where together discussions were raised on such sensitive and crucial issues, keeping in mind and at centre, the wishes and dignity of persons living with dementia.
