Event Description
INIA collaborated with  IAGG-African Region and Tunisian Association of Gerontology (ATUGER) in organising the 3rd IAGG-African Congress on Gerontology and Geriatrics. INIA’s Deputy Director Rosette Farrugia-Bonello attended the Congress which was held in Hammamet, Tunisia between 3-5 November 2022. The three-day Congress brought together academics, civil society representatives, policy makers, practitioners and private sector role players, all working in the field of ageing. The scientific programme provided a unique platform for knowledge transfer and cutting-edge debate on the realities of growing old in Africa, and for identifying directions for actions on ageing in the region in coming years. The Congress was convened by Dr Isabella Aboderin IAGG Africa Region President and incoming IAGG Africa Region President Dr Radhouane Gouiaa. Also present for the Congress were IAGG President Prof. Jose Ricardo Jauregui and IAGG Vice-President and Secretary General Prof Miguel Angel Acanfora.
