Event Description
On 25 April, INIA organized a training programme titled “Active Ageing, Geriatrics & Dementia Care in Care Homes for Older Persons” at Dar l-Annunzjata in Tarxien, Malta. The event was inaugurated by Rosette Farrugia-Bonello, INIA’s Deputy Director, and Mario Ellul, Chief Operating Officer at Dar l-Annunzjata.
The programme featured several key sessions. Dr. Maria Bonnici delivered a lecture on “Geriatric Healthcare for Older Persons Living in Care Homes,” followed by a session on “Dementia Care Issues” presented by Rosette Farrugia-Bonello. The final lecture, on “Active Ageing in Care Homes for Older Persons,” was conducted jointly by Rosette Farrugia-Bonello and Prof. Marvin Formosa, Director of INIA.
The event concluded with remarks by Hon. Dr. Malcolm Paul Agius Galea, Junior Minister for Active Ageing, Malta. After his address, certificates were distributed to the participants, who were primarily carers and nurses working at Dar l-Annunzjata.
